Alan Livingston is currently in his second term as Mayor of Waipa District, after serving as a District Councillor for two terms since 1995. A member of all the standing committees of Council, the Mayor is also the chairman of the Iwi Consultative Committee.

A farmer and businessman from Te Pahu, near Te Awamutu, Alan is married to Janet. The couple have three children.
