Sam Gaze has been named Sportsman of the Year at 2017 Waipa Networks District Sports Awards held on Monday night at the Te Awamutu Event Centre.
Triathlete Nicole van der Kaay was named Sportswoman of the Year and overall Premier Award winner at the Taupo District Sports Awards held on Friday night at the Taupo Great Lake Centre.
Midland’s Hockey’s Tarryn Davey was named Sportswoman of the year for an outstanding year in hockey – from being named in the Blacksticks Development Squad to achieving selection for the Black Sticks v Malaysia and India game.
