By utilising clubs within the community, we will provide an environment that will allow children and young people with a disability the opportunity to participate and develop skills in a variety of sports and activities.

The No Exceptions Training (NET) programme is a SPARC initiative, which is facilitated and delivered by the Halberg Trust through the Sport Opportunity Programme. A NET workshop is a free professional development that will enhance teaching and coaching skills and opportunities for people living with a disability to become more active, more often.

The workshops will focus on inclusion of all participants into their physical education programmes, adaptation of games and some ideas for new games that can be used with children. The workshops deliberately use a practical approach, and the promotion of positive attitudes toward disability, sport and physical activity.

The workshops can be offered to individuals or groups with an interest or involvement in providing sport and leisure that wholly or partly includes, or is likely to include, people with disabilities. Workshops are designed for particular target groups (e.g., Module 2 - Success in Schools is aimed at teachers). Workshops can also be customised to suit the needs of particular sports and/or interest groups.

The following are the policies to ensure the Halberg Trust's basic ideals will be met:

• Applications are welcomed from caregivers, parents, teachers and advocates on behalf of children with a disability that are 18 years and under.
• The minimum age to apply for swimming lessons is 5 years old, however for all other applications the minimum is 8 years of age.
• Two pieces of equipment funded by the Activity Fund is the maximum allowable over a person’s lifetime (provided they fit the age criteria).
• All applicants must contribute towards the cost of equipment. E.g. A bike for an able bodied child would realistically expect to cost $300.00, this is expected to be the minimum amount contributed by the applicant for this piece of equipment.
• The maximum grant allowable for equipment related funding applications is $1500.00.
• The maximum grant for lessons is $200.00. All applications for lessons must include a Physical Activity Plan or a lesson plan.
• The Activity Fund will pay for a maximum of one activity per 12 month period and the fund will pay for one activity type per life time. (e.g. only one set of swimming lessons, only one set of skiing lessons).
• All applications are processed by the grants committee and are subject to the discretion of the committee.
• Organisations will not be funded via the Activity Fund.
• Costs associated with attending a school camp are funded.
